Is running 2 GW clients at the same time bannable? - Guild Wars Forums

I want to know if using 2 accounts at the same time on Guild Wars is bannable using things like GWx2.

For any type of activity other than scamming, hacking, etc.

Haven't heard of anyone banned for it yet, and they'd be dumb to discourage people from buying multiple accounts.

As long as you're running the accounts to play legitamately. Such as trading between accounts without a mule, you shouldn't get banned. I've seen guys that run 4 accounts at the same time for the sake of Zaishen Elite trapping too save time.

It has never been said by Anet that dual boxing is illegal, and therefore you can run 4 accounts to do zaishen elite trapping.

Yes it's perfectly legal, you won't get banned over it.

u shouldnt run any risk on running two accounts at once. there is a post somewhere here on guru explaining how to use gwx2 ;-)

i've used GWx2 for a long time now i use GW Multi launch or whatever its called. imo its better than gwx2 cuz u can run as many clients as u want and still use textmod. i'm running 2 or 3 clients all the time. never got a warning / banned. its all gooooooooood

Besides, how could ANet tell you were running both accounts on one computer? Theres no way to see if you were using both accounts on one computer or two. It'd be stupid to ban for this anyway.

I've been thinking of ways to grief other players by using 2 accounts but can't think of anything, argh!

If you really think about it, how could ANet tell that any 2 particular accounts are being run from one computer and why would that be any different from 2 computers running through a router (thus having the same IP)?

Maybe its the $9.99 free shipped Prophecies/EotN Platinum version at Newegg, or most Target stores selling the GOTY for $9.98 or even $4.98. That's what prompted me to finally give GW a try with 2 accounts.
